This old buffet had a door broken off and was covered in a flaking veneer when I purchased it. I repaired the door ; removed the flaking veneer ; puttied; sanded; and painted the piece. Then I lightly distressed it to let some of the original wood show through.
French Provincial dresser - painted in Bavarian Cream and distressed. I added a cafe au lait glaze and a protective Minwax Polycrylic coat. I painted the brass handles with a silver glaze, sanded them slightly, then added a verdigris colored paint in the nooks and crannies.

The piece below had been treated with a faux marble technique in an olive green. It was not attractive. I painted it a robin's egg blue, distressed it, and treated it with a light maple glaze.
Union Jack end table:
The mirror and sofa table below were painted with the same off white enamel and lightly distressed.
This old telephone table was being thrown away. It was a light beige that was very dirty and stained and the top had water damage. It cleaned up nice, and looks great with a coat of distressed black satin!

There were two of these end tables. I stripped and re-stained the tops in an Espresso stain and painted the rest French blue with lots of distressing and waxing.
